Corporate Boardbound equips executive women to skillfully step into board service.

Since 2017, Boardbound by Women’s Leadership Foundation has had a September event to congratulate the group of participants who have completed their year-long Corporate Boardbound program and to launch the next year’s cohort of Corporate Boardbound participants. It is a wonderful time for the program participants, their mentors, the alumnae of previous programs, and supporters to come together with the Boardbound organization to celebrate.

Celebrate!

In March 2023, we announced that 2023 would serve as the Women’s Leadership Foundation’s and its Boardbound programs’ final year, with our current cohorts completing the last Corporate Boardbound programs in September. At our September Graduation and Capstone event, we will be honoring our 2022-23 Corporate Boardbound graduates, as well as reflecting on all the organization has accomplished over the years.

The program includes a keynote presentation by Dave Boennighausen, Chief Executive Officer of Noodles & Company.  As a life-long Noodler, Mr. Boennighausen has spent most of his career growing Noodles & Company into one of the largest fast-casual restaurant companies in the industry.  He came to Noodles in 2004 as senior financial analyst and has since moved on to serve as Vice President of Finance, Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in June 2017.  Through his vision to nourish and inspire every team member, guest and community the company serves, Mr. Boennighausen is committed to making Noodles the best place in the industry to work for those who love life.   Prior to coming to Noodles, he began his career with May Department Stores.  He received his degree in finance and marketing from Truman State University and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Dave also serves on the national advisory board for No Kid Hungry.

Our Corporate Boardbound alum, Patricia Mishic O’Brien, will also offer remarks to the invited guests. In May 2023, UBQ Materials, the Israel-headquartered developer and producer of UBQ, a bio-based thermoplastic made entirely from organic and unrecyclable household waste, announced the appointment of Patty Mishic O’Brien as Chief Commercial Officer. Ms. Mishic O’Brien brings over 25 years of experience in the specialty chemicals and advanced materials industry. Before joining UBQ Materials, she served as the Chief Commercial Officer for CoorsTek, a leading global engineered ceramics manufacturer. Previously, she was the chief marketing officer & executive vice president at A. Schulman, Inc. (now a LyondellBasell company). She also spent over a decade with Dow Chemical Company, serving in domestic and global leadership roles focused on strategic marketing and business development.  Since 2021, she has served as an Independent Non-executive Director to AECI Limited. Ms. Mishic O’Brien holds an MBA from the University of Akron, Ohio, and a business degree in industrial marketing from Youngstown State University.  She is a Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and a member of Women Corporate Directors, a global organization.
